As a wedding dress maker, I would say the fitting process is when I need my brides to trust in me the most. It`s all well and good showing them beautiful drawings and fabrics, but when it comes to those first fittings, things can look very different to what you imagined. And that`s fine!
All art goes through a process, whether it`s layering oil paints on a canvas, or refining the clay of a sculpture...but an artist knows, it will all be worth it in the end.
I think the finished result looks absolutely beautiful, and that’s thanks to those fittings, where I could refine, check and double check, and make sure this bride’s dress fitted her perfectly!

"I’m not sure I can put into words how brilliant Felicity is and how grateful I am to her.
It’s a difficult thing to trust someone with making your wedding dress from scratch, but with Felicity I needn’t have worried for a second. Having searched high and low for ‘the one’ off the rack and not had any luck, I found Felicity by chance and from our very first conversation I knew I wanted her to make a bespoke dress for me due to her extensive knowledge, experience and affability. I couldn’t really articulate what I did and didn’t want in a dress, and yet Felicity managed to somehow take what was in my head and make it a reality.
Everything about the dress was perfect - I’ve never felt as confident or happy wearing anything as I did walking down the aisle that day. Felicity is extraordinarily talented and practised in what she does, as well as being hugely creative, friendly, and approachable.
If you are considering a bespoke dress or alterations - look no further. She is beyond compare."
What a lovely thank you note from a lovely bride 💜

✨️Real Bride Review✨️
"I’m so glad my sister-in-law recommended Felicity for my wedding dress alterations! The shop has such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, and from the very first session, I knew I had found the right place.
Felicity made me feel calm and confident, offering helpful advice, including tips on the best bra to wear. She is not only kind but incredibly knowledgeable about dresses, always giving thoughtful suggestions on what would work best.
As a plus-sized bride, I was initially nervous about how I would feel in my dress, but Felicity made me feel completely comfortable and confident from the start. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but with Felicity, I felt completely in safe hands!"
What a gorgeous review from Jade. Thank you 🥰

I love a wedding with a strong theme, and this galaxy/night time sky aesthetic is so beautiful. The deep blues (look at those nails!), the gorgeous cake, the celestial accessories. It`s all so magical! 🌙⭐️
I had the pleasure of hand dying Gemma`s dress to make it look like the night sky is at her feet. Dip dying your wedding dress (or a removable overskirt) can really help make sure every thing on your wedding day was perfectly on theme. I`ve made dip dye dresses and overskirts in pretty much every colour combination you can think of!
If you want to see more photos of Gemma`s gorgeous dusty blue gradient wedding dress, then have a look at the posts just before this one. Especially if you love a fantasy vibe 💙

Watch til the end to see this beautifully ethereal dip-dyed wedding dress 👗
I did 4 rounds of dyeing to get the perfect, dusk to midnight blue ombre, but it was so worth it!
I do a lot of custom dip dying, and I`ve noticed that blue is really on trend at the moment. But what`s wonderful, is that there`s still so much variety that can be had. My dip dying service comes entirely customisable, with up to five possible colours in the gradient. Some brides choose blues, but include purples and even black into their colour choices. Other brides stick with paler hues, whilst others go for the deeper, darker shades. It`s always exciting to see my brides` imaginations running wild!
What colours would you add to your wedding dress?
If you want to see the bride looking like a fairy getting married in the woods, have a look at the post before this one.
Gemma had a galaxy themed wedding planned, all that remained was to make her wedding dress perfectly on theme too.
For Gemma`s dress, I did a `wet` dip dye, which involved using powder dyes in hot water (as opposed to the dye sprays that I usually enlist). I did four `dips` in total. The result is this beautiful, ethereal ombre effect, from deep blue up to delicate periwinkle. She looks like a goddess of the night sky ✨️ but also like a fairy or an an elf from Lord of the Rings. Is anyone else seeing Galadriel?
The dip dying process really helps to customise a wedding dress, so even if you go for an off the rail gown, you can make the finished product something that really speaks to your own unique style.
I offer pretty much any colour you can think of, and I can either dye directly onto your dress, or make an overskirt to go on top. The overskirts are great choice if you want to leave the dress underneath untouched.
Have a look on Etsy for more info on how to order colour swatches of your chosen palette 🌈
