Informal Wedding Dress in Rose Pink and Lace for Registry Office Wedding

champagne with the groom pale pink wedding dress

Clare wanted something pretty but informal and not too โ€˜weddingโ€™ for her special day. She knew from the start that a rose pink informal wedding dress was the way forward. She brought a skirt she loved to her design consultation with gorgeous little godet flare inserts at the back which we used as a basis for the design.

I made Clareโ€™s dress in rose pink duchess-satin with a fitted and boned bodice with a sweetheart neckline. A layer of matching lace extended over the bodice and up to a boat neckline at the front and vee at the back. I finished the half cap sleeves and the back neckline with pretty scalloped edging. The skirt was a fitted pencil shape to just above the knee with a tiny lace trim at the hem. Clare asked for back to be flared with many โ€˜godetโ€™ panels and so we added a little netting below to help it hold itโ€™s shape.

I finished the waistline of the informal wedding dress with a ribbon sash made of the same satin and trimmed with a spectacular pearl embroidered motif. The back closed with a concealed zip and decorative little feature covered buttons.

Making Claireโ€™s Informal Wedding Dress

Claire chose a pre-made motif from my sample books, featuring pearl, diamante stones and tiny glass bugle beads to highlight her waistline on the rose pink wedding dress.

This Bridgerton-inspired wedding dress is so versatile!

Of course, underneath everything there first needs to be the proper shapewear to give that Regency pillar silhouette, in the form of stays and a petticoat.
Then along comes this beautiful white and gold duchess satin dress.
And this is where the fun begins...

I created some many different accessories and options for this outfit:

You can add something deeply dramatic, with a period-accurate presentation train. This one is super long and gilded in gold lace.
Or you could go for some detachable puff sleeves, finished with an ornate pearl trim.
Then there's the bow, which can be added on top of the train, or just straight onto the dress, with the long sash-tends working as a sort of mini train.

And of course, the final, and most essential accessory for a look like this: fun, whimsy and a love for the dramatic. It also helps if you're obsessed with this current season of Bridgerton, of course...

Which Bridgerton character can you imagine wearing this bridal look?

If you think this might be the dress for you, it's currently for sale on my Etsy page (๐Ÿ”— in bio) - it's heavily discounted compared to my usual bespoke orders, so claim her whilst you can!
