I am very lucky that your wedding dress is such an important part of the day for most brides, which means most people are prepared to travel to meet the right wedding dressmaker. Many brides looking for a bespoke wedding dress in Surrey are travelling in from London, or all over the South East. I can also cater to brides travelling from further afield for whom visits are more difficult. We can reduce the number of times you have to travel for a fitting by planning for multiple fittings in one visit while you spend the night locally. Or the very early appointments, the design consultation and the measuring appointment can also be accomplished online via zoom. To date I have hand made wedding bespoke dresses for brides coming from Edinburgh, Germany and Switzerland. And I have sent out made to measure hand made dresses to clients as far away as the United States and Australia.

Why choose a bespoke wedding dress?

A bespoke wedding dressmaker is a the perfect choice if you know the dress you want just isn't available in the usual bridal shops. This might be because you would like an unusual colour or fabric combination. Perhaps you have a figure that is not easily catered for in standard size dresses, you are petite or unusually tall. I have made wedding dresses for people with specific medical or sensory needs which are much less easily catered for without a bespoke wedding dress.
Sometimes even a 'normal' body needs a specially drafted pattern to account for asymmetry acquired through playing sport or an injury. I once made a wedding dress for a bride who was a professional lacrosse player. When we had ane early fitting it was obvious the dress wasn't sitting quite right. It took me a few minuted to work out the issue but it turned out that her muscle mass on one shoulder and one side of her ribcage was much more developed than the other side. So I needed to make her dress with the left side smaller than the right, to ensure the centre front and centre back of the dress lined up visually with the centre of her body.
