Rebecca wanted a whimsical bridal look fit for an elven princess. I designed a pastel rainbow ombre wedding dress in lace and organza.

For this Northern lights ombre colour wedding dress, Sofz commissioned me to dip dye her dress. She wanted it to match the beautiful sunsets in Lapland, which was the main inspiration she sent me. We went for my ever-popular Phoenix colourway. The colours start from pale yellow, to bright buttercup, tangerine orange, blending into red,...

The inspiration for this blue wedding dress with sleeves was a little unusual. Some brides give me mood boards, and some brides give me the lyrics to the extended (8 minute!) version of Torch by Soft Cell. The song, and especially these particular lyrics, have a lot of significance to the bride, Nicky, and her...

Dearest Gentle Reader, It has come to this author’s attention that a passionate affair took place at The Historic Dockyard Chatham, that would make even the most confident of rakes blush. Rest assured, a few were in attendance to what was a wonderful day, full of vibrancy, talent and exquisite work. Here are a few...

I created two bespoke wedding dresses in Brighton for this fun, campy, Cabaret photoshoot. The goal was to create a vibrant celebration of life and love, full of bright colours and bags of personality. There’s no better way to celebrate than with glitter, confetti and a whole lot of fun! I don’t know about...

The first step for this custom sunset ombre wedding dress was designing and making a simple, elegant wedding dress in pale ivory duchess satin and tulle. Then came the fun part; dip-dying it in a gradient of beautifully vibrant colours. I call this particular combination my ‘Phoenix’ colour-way. It’s one of the most popular choices...

This bespoke wedding dress photoshoot in Kent absolutely bursts with colour, style and fun! Inspired by the 1950s and the quirky Rockabilly style, we went big with our bold accent colours of fuchsia pink and navy blue, the whole shoot was full of retro elegance and mid-century charm. This shoot was all about 50s fun....

For this bride, I created a Chinese fusion wedding dress with red dip dye. The result was a bold and beautiful bridal look, with lots of eye-catching details. There are two ways I can dip dye dresses. One involves spraying the fabric whilst gently overlapping and blending the colours, I do this as the final...

I designed this fairytale look for a bespoke wedding dress photoshoot in Essex. I made the dramatic Aurora gown in layers of fluffy blush organza and pale ivory tulle. Sequins shimmer under the top layer and creep onto the illusion neckline. I trimmed the bodice and waist with mixed metallic beaded lace and I created...

I’m very lucky that I attract the kind of brides who often want something that varies wildly from the traditional long white gown. So, when I met Maggie (virtually) and she told me that she was getting married in the summer and wanted something fun and bright, I was very excited! So I designed for...

Sure, my usual role is a bespoke wedding dress maker, creating beautiful and unique garments for brides looking for something a little different.
But sometimes I`m also a lighting assistant, a caterer, a last-minute-rush-to-the-shopper. That`s the fun of being a creative, working with other creatives.
This was from a styled photoshoot I organised, based on the iconic 90s film, Strictly Ballroom. I made these dazzling neon bridesmaids outfits based around the stunning costumes of Latin ballroom dancers. Our photographer really wanted the colours to pop in the atmospheric darkness of our location, so of course I volunteered myself as floor level tripod 😂
The photos turned out amazing, so it was definitely worth it!

Forget-me-nots, cornflowers, bluebells, hydrangea...
All those blooms in shades of lapis, azure and sapphire, growing up from the earth, and cascading down from the neckline - a bride enveloped in blossoming sky blue beauty.
Layers of light, fluffy tulle floating to the ground, with every petal carefully placed to create the perfect composition. Botanical and beautiful. With balloon sleeves and a wide neckline, so the sun can still kiss her shoulders.
This is a bride from a modern fairytale. Like Sleeping Beauty awakening from her slumber and taking her fate into her own hands.
And the final detail, to bring it all together? A bespoke waistcoat for the groom, with hints of the same floral elements. A happily ever after.

"Just a very quick note from Rome to let you know how very admired your dress was. Lots of people said how beautiful it was. It really was the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. I definitely would like to work out how to potentially wear it again - I can’t bear the thought that I’ll never wear it again!
Thank you again - you truly are an alchemist!"
All the quiet hours designing, cutting, sewing and hand-stitching were all worth it, just to hear a bride so happy with her wedding dress.
Want to see what this dreamy dress looked like on the day? I`ll be posting the official wedding shots later this week. You won`t want to miss this one, I promise you. This gown has quickly become a new favourite of mine 💙

What do you do with a wedding dress that`s too precious to forget, but too beautiful to leave in a box forever?
Last year I shared a wedding dress transformation I had done. I upcycled a Victorian-inspired dress I`d made fifteen years earlier - something only suited to a wedding - into something infinitely more wearable.
And people had feelings about it. Big feelings.
I understand that when you really love how something looks, it can feel criminal to see it changed into something you wouldn`t choose for yourself.
But this is what Eleanor chose for her wedding dress. And she, of all people, is the most attached to how it looked in the first place. But as she said, if she`d just had a new dress made for her anniversary, it wouldn`t have been the same. This fabric gently held her as a young adult, making a life long commitment to someone else. It rested against her chest as her heart beat hard and fast when saying "I do". It swirled around her hips as she took her first dance. It pooled around her feet as she finally sat down, exhilarated and tired. Now a wife.
And now this new dress can be with her through so many more experiences, holding those old memories, whilst also making new ones.
This is what I do - I help your dress live a second life. Would you ever have yours transformed?
Running around @nationalmuseumsscotland after hours, sneaking under towering dinosaur bones and dancing amongst fallen stars. ✨
What a way to end a wedding day - one that began with a traditional ceremony at Edinburgh Castle. 🏰 (check out my previous post to see those gorgeous photos)
Richelle`s waterfall skirt was built from nine organza layers, each edged in horsehair braid for movement and drama, paired with a boned, sweetheart bodice in silver lace. Romantic enough for a castle, dramatic enough for a museum full of ancient and magical things. 🦕
Utterly dreamy, start to finish.

This gorgeous bespoke bronze wedding dress has gained a bit of attention recently, ever since I shared the secrets of how she fastens at the back, so I thought I`d bring her back for you to see in full. ✨
Making this dress was a dream, but nothing beats seeing how beautiful this bride looked on the day, surrounded by old stone, wild forest, and the people she loves.
Your wedding dress is about you, it`s you, showing up in something that tells everyone exactly who you are. And I think this dress tells us this bride is opulent, elegant and regal. Basically? She`s a queen. 👑
Getting your dress made specifically for you means you get to be really specific about how you want to look and feel on the day. Bright, modern and playful. Wild, dramatic and daring. Whatever your vibe, working with a maker who prioritises your ideas is a must.
