I made in Liz’s dress flamenco inspired wedding dress in teal blue shot silk. It has a boned bodice with ruching to the hip and a wide off the shoulder neckline. The skirt falls in graduated tiers of waterfall frills. Hand applique of teal lace adds sparkle and texture to the neckline and skirt. Liz...

Clare wanted something pretty but informal and not too ‘wedding’ for her special day. She knew from the start that a rose pink informal wedding dress was the way forward. She brought a skirt she loved to her design consultation with gorgeous little godet flare inserts at the back which we used as a basis...

I created a bespoke wedding dress Berkshire for Julia’s in a grand stately home. So her dress needed to compliment this and her figure. Nicola’s daughter and niece were her two beautiful bridesmaids and I made them bespoke teen bridesmaid dresses. I made an orange wedding dress 1950’s style for Clare’s Florida wedding. She commissioned a flamboyant 1950’s style dress made in burnt orange satin and ivory chiffon with beaded lace and tulle. Official wedding photographs by www.gingermidgett.com The fitted and well boned bodice had a sweetheart neckline framed with straps that narrowed on the shoulder....

The dress needed to have a vintage, showgirl feel and be really sexy but still realistic as a bridal dress, not many people actually get married in a leotard and feathers! The wiggle skirt with a boned bodice hit all these marks showing off our lovely model, Vanessa?s curves and cinching her waist. I added a teal net petticoat that would show when the high/low hem moved and delicate gold lace detail with Swarovski crystals for showgirl glamour!

It`s always nice to look back on the year and see the things I`ve achieved. So today I`m going through the top alterations I did in 2025, according to how many of you engaged with them.
So, in no particular order:
1. Jennifer`s custom dip dye wedding dress is such a delicious explosion of colour, so of course it was going to rank highly! It`s good to see that the Phoenix colourway is still going strong 🔥
2. After Catherine came to me to get her wedding dress altered, she told me one of her bridesmaids was doing up the back of the dress and said "wait, I thought when you bought it, you said the dress was open back? Did you get a new dress?"
You lot absolutely loved this alteration! It is by far my most popular post of the year, and it was so lovely to connect with so many new people who appreciated my work on this.
3. Katie wanted a chic, modern bridal veil. Her wedding dress already had delicate 3D flowers on the bodice, so we echoed this design element in the veil. I hand embellished almost 400 satin flowers!
4. With alterations, usually it`s about making the dress the right fit for the bride. But sometimes, when I`m very lucky, I get to play. I embellished Karen`s beautiful off-shoulder wedding dress with hundreds of little embroidered flowers. This one is a personal favourite of the year.
5. Finally I did a full re-style of Eleanor`s wedding dress. It had originally been a long, heavy Elizabethan-inspired affair, but for her wedding anniversary she wanted something lighter, more easy to move in and more versatile. My most controversial alteration this year - some of you had very strong feelings about the change, but Eleanor was happy, so I am too.
Next I`ll be going through the top 5 bespoke wedding dresses I made this year. Follow along to find out if your favourite made it 👀

When you have two bespoke wedding dresses on your sample rail that are perfect for both Elphaba and Glinda, and with Wicked For Good having come out, it felt rude not to!
Wicked has done an amazing job of bringing bright, bold fashion back to our attention, which is so exciting. But I`ve had many Elphaba and Glinda brides way before they came to the big screen. Brides who are up for going on an adventure with me to conjure up their perfect wedding look.
I might not be the Wizard of Oz, but I am the Dress Alchemist after all 😉
(shout out to my social media manager, Elodie, for stepping in and being the Elphaba to my Glinda. If you`re looking for your own magical media witch, you can find them at www.brightbeemedia.co.uk)
NicoleThey’re divorced. Do not feel these photographs are appropriate to display.
woozelsmudgeHi Nicole, Thanks for your comment. I only ever show photos of past clients with explicit permission, which was obtained before publishing these. At any time my client can be in touch if she would like the images taken down, but perhaps she prefers to celebrate her beautiful dress and support my business in these difficult times, even if the marriage has now ended.
